How to make your own Face Mask
By Ellarose92
No need to spend money on a face mask ever again!
Not everyone wants to go to the spa every week and spend 50-100 dollars on a face mask so I've come up with a series of hubs that i will be making with some easy homemade face masks that you can make for yourself or for others.
These face masks will only take no more then 20 minutes to make and are really beneficial for your skin so each week I'll put up about 4 different types of masks that everyone can use on their skin! All the products are easy to find and probably things you already have in your household and wont affect your budget!
Oatmeal and Yogurt Mask
This face mask is good for all skin types, its very easy to make and smells amazing. All you need is three ingredients:
- Honey ( few drops)
- 2 tablespoons of Oatmeal( ground in blender to make smaller pieces)
- 2 tablespoons of Plain Organic Yogurt
Steps
- Add the yogurt an oatmeal into a bowel
- Heat up a little bit of the honey and add to the mixture and stir well
- Put on the mask and leave on for about 10 minutes and rinse off
Your skin should feel really soft, for me personally my skin was still a bit dry but once I added a moisturizer afterwards my face felt fresh and really rejuvenated. This is a simple mask that you can do everyday just to brighten your face and get a soft feeling I definitely recommend this for men after they shave the ladies will love it!
Pumpkin Mask
The pumpkin mask happens to be my favorite, I love pumpkin and iIfelt this mask really worked for me! Pumpkin is very good for the skin its loaded with antioxidants and is in many expensive face creams and in masks that you would get at a salon. It gives you very soft skin and clams down breakouts.
Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup of fresh pumpkin pulp
Now there's three options that you can add to this recipe depending on what kind of skin you have or you can use all three because they are all good for your skin
- teaspoon of honey( very good for dry skin)
- 2 teaspoon of almond milk( which is really good for dry or combination skin)
- 2 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar or cranberry juice ( good for oily skin)
Steps
- puree everything all together in the blender
- apply to face and leave on for about 20 minutes
- rinse with cold water then apply your favorite moisturizer
Usually when i make this i add the almond milk and apple cider vinegar, now the smell isn't amazing but it works wonders for your skin. It definitely lightens up the blemishes on your face and it feels kinda funny at first, there's a little bit of a tingle but its so worth it and is something I like to use on others as well.
Banana Mask
This mask is pretty good for oily skin, and it smells wonderful, when I was making this mask my friend basically ate half of it so she didn't get the benefits of it, but it sure was a nice snack for her(ha ha).
Ingredients
- A ripe banana
- 1 tablespoon of honey
- A lemon or orange
Steps
- Mix the banana and honey together and a few drops of lemon or orange juice
Keep on face for about 15 minutes and wash off with warm water, i recommend letting the steam hit your face while the mask is on before rinsing. This really made my face feel really smooth and nourished this is also something you can do everyday!
Strawberry Mask
This is a very easy mask to make, strawberry is known to have salicylic acid components which is why this mask is really good for acne prone skin. Also my friends did eat this and rub it on their faces so this is also a very good snack!!
All you need is two ingredients!!
- Strawberries
- Plain yogurt
mush the strawberries and mix them both together and rub all over your face. You will get a really cool sensation which i happen to like. This really helps when you have pimples or really bad acne and its so simple!! Leave on face for about 10 minutes and rinse off with cool water.
