Good tips on how to moisturize your skin

By

There's a lotion for everyone

Weather you have oily skin, dry skin, or combination there's a lotion out there for you! A lot of mistakes people make is using any kind of lotion for your face or body lotion for your face, which can actually clog your pores and make your skin worse. They have specific lotions just for face for any condition you might have. Before I put on my make up and primer I always use a good lotion during the summer I have very oily skin and during the winter i have a combination of dry skin so I switch lotions for my summer and winter months. Lately I've been having combination skin but that could be due to me being stress out sometimes!

Types of Skin

 Normal Skin

Normal skin is the ideal skin type for everyone. It's not to oily and its not to dry its just the right combination. Normal skin types also don't need to much attention or care but it is still good to moisturize so you can keep it that way!

What you need to maintain your normal skin or achieve normal skin is to make sure you keep up with moisturizing your skin with a facial scrub, toner, and a lotion with at least SPF 15 in it.

Dry Skin

dry skin tends to be very irritated, flaky, red and puffy especially in the mornings. Dry skin is caused by the lack of oil or sebum your skin produces. Its also caused by weather changes and dehydration which is why its always good to drink water.

To deal with dry skin its good to use facial scrubs/exfoliators to help remove the dry skin and a rich moisturizer that you can use to daily to help the skin from peeling.

Oily Skin

Oily skin is when your skin produces to much oil that your face begins to have that greasy feeling. Also people with this skin are the most prone to acne due to their pores always being clogged with oil.

To clear up oily skin its good to use a mild cleanser and toner with a water based moisturizer, also a good tip is to buy one of those blotting packs so you can keep them with you on the go. One good thing about oily skin is that you tend to look younger for a longer period of time because due to your face being so oily its always moisturized and can prolong the effect of aging! (ha ha)

Combination Skin

There's a lot of people out there who have combination skin types and this usually consists of your skin be oily and dry. Your skin tends to be oily on your nose, chin, and forehead then dry in other areas.

The hardest part with having combination skin is that they have to use different cleanser and moisturizers on a fay to day basis. One day their skin can be more oily then dry or vice versa so you have to take time to look at your face to see which one it is that day. You can either use light moisturizers or cleaners or go to a dermatologist to get it check out.

Sensitive Skin

This type of skin can actually be considered a skin condition rather then a type because it can be normal, oily, or combination but then the ingredients in the cleanser can effect the skin as well.

Honestly i cant give you good advice on this one, i recommend going to a dermatologist because they can help you best. They will be able to  figure out what you need for your skin, so you dont end up hurting yourself or spending money on products that don't work for you.
